UK trademark applicants to face scrutiny over bad faith filings

Under the new guidance, trademark applicants will face greater scrutiny over whether their applications are overly broad.The UK Intellectual Property Office today issued new guidance on bad faith trademark applications. Effective immediately, trademark applications will be subject to bad faith objections from examiners at the authority and could face rejection for being “manifestly and self-evidently broad.”...
