By Frank Hersey ( September 19, 2025, 16:05 GMT | Comment) -- The text of the US-UK "Technology Prosperity Deal" announced during President Donald Trump's state visit seems to show the US pulling the UK ever further across the Atlantic on AI policy and lack of regulation. A telling part of the trip was the signing of a memorandum of understanding under which the UK is clearly expected to more fully align with the US's deregulatory approach to AI.With the UK in no rush to regulate AI anyway, there was little need to mention it much during this week's state visit by US President Donald Trump and the associated billions of dollars in technology deals intended to unleash economic prosperity — including more than $40 billion of investments in UK AI infrastructure....
