Vietnam proposes revised competition fines covering mergers, digital conduct
( September 25, 2026, 06:07 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Vietnam has released a draft decree revising sanctions for violations of the country’s competition rules for public consultation, according to a statement issued Thursday by the Vietnam Competition Commission. The proposal sets administrative fines of up to 5 percent of an enterprise’s revenue for certain prohibited economic concentration activities, and introduces or revises penalties for providing misleading information about products or services on digital platforms. It also increases the maximum fine for assisting prohibited anticompetitive practices or unfair competition from 50 million dong to 1 billion dong ($38,500).
