South Korea's low-cost carrier Jin Air wins merger approval in Vietnam

( October 7, 2026, 07:30 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: South Korean low-cost carrier Jin Air has received clearance from the Vietnam Competition Commission for its merger with Air Busan and Air Seoul. Jin Air said Wednesday that the VCC granted final approval on Oct. 2, after the three airlines signed a merger agreement on Aug. 21 and subsequently filed a merger notification with the Vietnamese competition regulator. Jin Air said it will now proceed with the remaining regulatory procedures in South Korea, including seeking merger clearance from the Korea Fair Trade Commission and subsequent approval from the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport.
