Data Privacy & Security - X Corp - Lawsuit against eSafety commissioner challenging RES Standard (Australia)

X Corp has filed a Federal Court lawsuit against Australia's eSafety Commissioner, challenging the Relevant Electronic Services Standards, saying that X and other social-media platforms shouldn't be subject to it. The RES Regulation is designed to cover what the eSafety Commissioner sees as shortcomings in the tech industry's proposed code of conduct. The Federal Court of Australia casefile number is: NSD751/2025.
