UK defense ministry won't face action over data breach that exposed 19,000 Afghans

By Frank Hersey ( July 15, 2025, 15:19 GMT | Insight) -- A major data breach that exposed details of thousands of Afghans who had worked with UK forces was revealed today after the lifting of a "super-injunction" that prevented any mention of it in order to protect their lives. The UK Information Commissioner's Office said today it had worked with the Ministry of Defence in investigating the breach and wouldn't take any further action.
