Toyota Group companies to take Toyota Industries private through tender offer

Under the proposed transactions, Toyota Fudosan will invest 180 billion yen ($1.3 billion), Toyota Motor will invest 700 billion yen and Akio Toyoda will contribute 1 billion yen. Toyota Industries, the founding company of Toyota Motor, remains a key supplier to the automaker. Toyota Motor currently holds nearly a 25 percent stake in Toyota Industries. Toyota Fudosan intends to launch a tender offer in December at 16,300 yen per share. However, Toyota Industries noted that the deal will require regulatory approvals from competition authorities in Japan, the United States, Germany and other jurisdictions, as well as from the European Union regarding government subsidies and from foreign investment regulators in certain European countries.
