Coles' two supermarket-lease bids in Australia spark public review

( September 25, 2025, 00:41 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Australian grocery retailer Coles’ proposed leasehold acquisitions for new supermarkets in Deanside Central and Mt Atkinson in the state of Victoria has sparked a public review. In a market inquiries letter published on Thursday, the Australian Competition & Consumer Commission said that Coles already holds a leasehold interest in a site at Kororoit Town Centre in western Melbourne. The letter said that Coles has offered to relinquish that interest if the regulator clears its proposed supermarket acquisitions at Mt Atkinson and Deanside Central, also in Melbourne’s west.
