UnitedHealth gets limited divestiture extension for Amedisys settlement

( October 27, 2025, 22:00 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: UnitedHealth has received an extension from the US Department of Justice's Antitrust Division to divest its interests in the Eastern Georgia Partnership joint venture as part of the settlement with the government regarding its acquisition of Amedisys. DOJ said the extension was "solely with respect" to the Georgia joint venture "because the counterparty to the joint venture, University Health Resources, Inc., has exercised a right of first refusal to acquire Defendants’ entire interest in the joint venture."
