RWE, Uniper lose appeal on pricing balancing-energy services at EU court

( June 25, 2025, 09:57 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: German energy companies RWE and Uniper have lost their separate appeals at the EU General Court against energy regulator ACER. The dispute concerned the method used to price balancing-energy services — the market mechanism used by grid operators to meet supply with demand, so as to maintain grid stability. In judgments delivered today, the EU's lower-tier court dismissed both appeals due to the companies' lack of standing before the ACER Board of Appeal, and for missing deadlines for bringing the cases to court.The judgments are attached (in French).
