Russia's Alfa-Bank loses sanctions appeal at EU court

( June 4, 2025, 08:39 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Russia’s Alfa-Bank has had its appeal against EU sanctions related to the war in Ukraine dismissed by the EU’s lower court. The bank had argued that the Council of the EU, which represents member states, lacked evidence to justify the imposition of the measures and that there were no legal grounds for it to enforce economic restrictions. The judgment published by the EU’s lower court said "the action must be dismissed in its entirety" and ordered Alfa-Bank to pay the costs.Judgment attached. Case reference is T-271/23. ...
