Monte dei Paschi remains committed to Mediobanca deal, CEO says

Mediobanca said last week that it could accelerate a plan to get rid of its own stake in insurer Generali, which would make the deal less interesting for Monte dei Paschi.The CEO of Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena, or MPS, said his bank was still committed to acquire its rival Mediobanca, despite the counteroffensive currently rolled out by the target....
