Intercontinental Exchange wins crypto trademark dispute in Dutch court

By Inbar Preiss ( May 12, 2025, 13:06 GMT | Insight) -- A Dutch court has ordered blockchain project Ice Labs to immediately stop using the “ICE” trademark within the EU, siding with Intercontinental Exchange in an interim decision as the court continues to prepare for the main proceedings. The judge found that Ice Labs' use of the term — despite its addition of descriptors such as “Open Network” — created a risk of confusion with IEH’s earlier EU trademark for financial and cryptocurrency services.
