Constellation deal opponents say monitor settlement doesn't resolve their concerns

( July 14, 2025, 15:00 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Power company Constellation Energy's partial settlement with Monitoring Analytics, an independent market monitor that oversees electricity companies within the Mid-Atlantic and Midwest, leaves many key issues unaddressed, a coalition of environmental advocacy groups and the Pennsylvania Office of Consumer Advocate told the US Federal Energy Regulatory Commission. Pennsylvania consumer law attorneys complained of "insufficient data to support the conclusion that the commitments made in the Settlement will prevent the exercise of market power in Pennsylvania wholesale default supply auctions and will not otherwise harm competition in such auctions." Public Citizen, PennFuture and Clean Air Council told FERC that the settlement "does not come close to taking Applicants beyond their burden of proof." See attached files....
