US FTC seeks preliminary injunction keeping Edwards Lifesciences and JenaValve separate

( August 6, 2025, 19:01 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The US Federal Trade Commission filed a federal lawsuit in the District of Columbia seeking a preliminary injunction to enjoin Edwards Lifesciences and its subsidiaries from completing its proposed acquisition of JenaValve Technology. Edwards is a global supplier of medical devices for treating structural heart disease. JenaValve is developing a transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) device for the treatment of aortic regurgitation (AR), a potentially fatal heart condition. Through its subsidiary, JC Medical, Edwards is also developing a TAVR device for the treatment of AR. Edwards and JenaValve are the only two companies that are currently conducting clinical trials on TAVR-AR devices in the US and JenaValve expects to obtain approval from the US Food and Drug Administration to commercialize its device by late 2025 or early 2026. The commission initiated an administrative complaint today and that proceeding will begin Jan. 6, 2026.See file attachment....
