Digitec-ICTHL telecommunications deal cleared in Papua New Guinea

( November 21, 2025, 04:58 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Telecommunications business Digitec ICT’s merger with ICT Holding, or ICTHL, has been approved by the antitrust regulator of Papua New Guinea. In a statement, the Independent Consumer and Competition Commission said it noted that the “amalgamation would be an internal restructure with no structural changes in the market in Papua New Guinea.” Vodafone Fiji currently owns 100 percent of ICTHL and 51 percent of Digitec, with the remaining 49 percent stake owned by ICTHL. The regulator said Digitec would remain 100 percent owned by Vodafone Fiji before and after the amalgamation. Digitec provides cloud-readiness assessments and ICT architecture consultation, along with internet services. ICTHL is a passive investment company that doesn’t directly operate businesses in Papua New Guinea.Statement follows; determination is attached:...
