Gambling body loses appeal of refusal to fully probe tax breaks at EU court

( June 25, 2025, 09:02 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Fachverband Spielhallen, a German gambling industry umbrella organization, today lost its appeal of the European Commission's refusal to fully investigate tax measures given to public casino operators. In 2021, the body lost its appeal at the General Court and last year, the Court of Justice referred the dispute back to the lower court. In today's judgment, the bloc's first-tier court fully rejected the legal challenge.  The judgment is attached (in French). Case reference is T-510/20....
