X takes Australian online-safety regulator to court over new obligations

The company has filed a lawsuit in the Federal Court of Australia in Sydney against the eSafety Commissioner, challenging new regulation introduced in December 2024. The Relevant Electronic Services Standard, which will be actively enforced from June 2025, has been developed to address the deficiencies of the 2023 Social Media Services Code.
