USITC launches tariff schedule investigation, sets September 2026 final report date

( August 12, 2025, 21:29 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The US International Trade Commission launched an investigation into potential recommendations for changes to the Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the US to align it with the global Harmonized System, a classification of goods in trade used by most of the world and overseen by the World Customs Organization, which will update its HS in 2028. USITC said it will issue preliminary recommendations in February 2026 and expects a final report to the president in September 2026.USITC news release and investigation notice attached....
