Japan starts anti-dumping probe of rust-protected steel imports from South Korea, China

( August 13, 2025, 02:35 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Japan’s industry and finance ministries have decided today to launch an anti-dumping investigation into hot-dipped galvanized steel coils, sheets and strips — equipped with anti-rust protection — originating from South Korea and China, excluding Hong Kong and Macau. According to the joint statement from the two ministries, the probe comes after Japanese steel companies applied for anti-dumping duties on these steel products, which are commonly used for guardrails, houses, fences and components in electrical appliances.
