China denies Pakistan's ties with US behind rare-earth export curbs

Media reports have said Pakistan exported rare earths to the US using Chinese equipment and technology, prompting Beijing to impose stricter rules on the exports. Lin said Beijing and Islamabad have been in communication over Pakistan’s mining cooperation with Washington, and that Pakistan has pledged its engagement with the US wouldn’t come at the expense of China’s interests or its cooperation with Beijing.
