$20M Verdict Holds Software Co. Liable For Botched Project

Law360 (May 23, 2018, 9:11 PM EDT) -- A software consulting firm committed professional negligence to the tune of more than $20 million when it botched a project for the online vehicle auction business Copart Inc., a California federal jury said Monday in what Copart attorneys believe was the first such finding against a software implementation company.

The jury also found Sparta Consulting Inc. concealed its failures from Copart, saying an additional $4.69 million would compensate the company for Sparta’s fraud.
