Mulvaney Gets Senate Approval As Trump Budget Officer

Law360, Washington (February 16, 2017, 12:02 PM EST) -- The Senate has approved President Donald Trump’s pick for his top budget office, putting conservative Rep. Mick Mulvaney, R-S.C., at the head of the office responsible for the federal budget and managing many agencies.

Mulvaney, a member of the Tea Party Caucus in the House of Representatives, has voted for spending cuts to balance the federal budget as well as for rollbacks of environmental rules meant to combat climate change and of the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act.
