Rapper DMX Charged With Ducking $1.7M In Tax Liabilities

Law360, New York (July 13, 2017, 9:36 PM EDT) -- Rapper DMX surrendered to federal authorities Thursday after being charged with tax fraud for allegedly concealing $1.7 million in tax liability by spending and receiving payments for performances and royalties almost entirely in cash, according to redacted indictment unsealed in New York federal court.

DMX, whose real name is Earl Simmons, is facing 14 counts, including six counts of evasion of assessment of income tax liability and six counts of failure to file an individual tax return, and will appear in Manhattan federal court on Friday...
