DOJ Wants 180 Days For Hitachi-LG Exec In Bid-Rigging Plot

Law360, New York (July 10, 2012, 5:56 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Department of Justice said Monday that a former executive of a joint venture between Hitachi Ltd. and LG Electronics Co. Ltd. should spend 180 days in jail after taking part in a bid-rigging plot for the sale of optical disk drives.

In a sentencing memorandum, the DOJ told a California federal judge that Woo Jin Yang, who worked for Hitachi-LG Data Storage Inc., should serve the 180-day sentence and pay the $25,000 fine outlined in a plea bargain he agreed to in late April....
