MINUTE ORDER made by direction of the Court, the Honorable Thomas S. Zilly, United States District Judge:(1) The State of Washington's motion, docket no. 18 , for leave to file an amicus curiae brief, is GRANTED, and the amicus curiae brief submitted by the State of Washington, docket no. 18 -1, is accepted and will be considered by the Court.(2) Defendants may file a response to the State of Washington's amicus curiae brief, not to exceed twelve (12) pages or 3,600 words in length, by 9:00 a.m. PDT on September 24, 2026. The State of Washington may file a reply, not to exceed six (6) pages or 1,800 words in length, by noon PDT on Sunday, September 27, 2026.(3) The Clerk is DIRECTED to update the docket to reflect that Deputy Solicitor General William McGinty and Assistant Attorney General Kristen S. Valore are counsel of record for amicus curiae the State of Washington.(4) Mr. McGinty and/or Ms. Valore may appear for the oral argument scheduled on September 29, 2026, at 10:00 a.m., and address the issues raised in plaintiffs' motion for preliminary injunction, docket no. 4 , and in the related amicus curiae briefing.(5) The Clerk is directed to send a copy of this Minute Order to all counsel of record, including Mr. McGinty and Ms. Valore, as well as to the United States Attorney for the Western District of Washington.(CJS)(cc: USAO via Ad Hoc NEF to civil email address)
