Order on Motion for Extension of Time to Order on Motion for Hearing
ORDER. In accordance with the attached Order, it is hereby ORDERED that the 37 Defendants' Motion for Extension of Time to Respond to Plaintiff's Complaint and Scheduling of Status Conference is GRANTED IN PART, DENIED WITHOUT PREJUDICE IN PART, AND DENIED IN PART. The defendants' motion is GRANTED to the extent they seek an extension of time to respond to the plaintiff's Complaint and to schedule a status conference. The defendants' motion is DENIED WITHOUT PREJUDICE to the extent that they seek to bifurcate the responsive pleadings and schedule briefing for all of the parties in this case. The defendants' motion is DENIED in all other respects. It is further ORDERED that, on June 20, 2024, at 9:30 a.m., the parties shall appear before the Court for a status conference. The parties shall appear before the Court via teleconference, by calling 1-877-873-8017 and entering the Court's access code (8583213) followed by the pound key (#). The parties shall be prepared to discuss: (1) the status of service of process as to all of the named defendants, (2) the basis for the District of Columbia being the proper venue for litigating this case, (3) the issues the parties seek to bifurcate in separate responsive pleadings, and (4) a briefing schedule mutually agreed upon by all the parties in this case. It is further ORDERED that, on or before July 3, 2024, all the defendants named in this case shall file an answer or otherwise respond to the plaintiff's Complaint.
