A relator who had been axed from a False Claims Act case against the cities of Minneapolis and St. Paul plans to appeal both his removal from the suit and the overall dismissal of the complaint about federal funding for low-cost housing, according to a Monday filing.

Minneapolis joined St. Paul on Monday to urge a Minnesota federal judge to dismiss a qui tam suit alleging that they submitted more than $150 million in false claims to federal housing agencies even as they illegally tore down hundreds of buildings under the pretext of building code violations.
