A Massachusetts hospital's owner and operator told the First Circuit that a district court wrongfully applied flooding sublimits in their suits seeking coverage from Zurich American Insurance Co. and American Guarantee and Liability Insurance Co. for damage caused by rainwater that had collected on its roof.

A hospital rendered inoperable after a flood in 2020 blamed insurers in Massachusetts federal court Thursday for failing to adequately pay for more than $180 million in losses, resulting in the facility remaining closed "ever since."
