A Pennsylvania federal judge tossed Friday a real estate company's suit seeking coverage from the Zurich American Insurance Co. for losses due to the COVID-19 pandemic, following in line with the Third Circuit's ruling that virus contamination doesn't constitute "direct physical loss" or property damage that would trigger coverage.

Zurich American Insurance Co. urged a Pennsylvania federal judge to follow in the footsteps of many other courts around the nation and dismiss a retail property management company's lawsuit seeking coverage for losses due to pandemic closures and precautionary measures.
