On the heels of a Second Circuit opinion, the U.S. Postal Service and a private property owner have agreed to settle a battle over a leased mail facility in New Milford, Connecticut, saying they no longer wish to dispute a purchase option and will draft papers necessary to convey the property to the USPS.

Finding that a real estate contract's references to a "leased premises" and "underlying land" were ambiguous, the Second Circuit on Thursday vacated a district court win for the U.S. Postal Service in a dispute over an option to purchase a leased facility in New Milford, Connecticut.
