A Florida immigration attorney wants to narrow a $500,000 visa scam malpractice suit brought by an Indian migrant, asking an Orlando federal judge on Tuesday to toss three of the five claims because the plaintiff allegedly missed the deadline to file negligence and legal malpractice claims and state statutes do not apply.

A Florida immigration attorney was hit with a malpractice suit in federal court accusing him of acting as an unregistered securities broker and inducing an Indian migrant to put $500,000 into a project "rife with fraud and conflicts" while falsely claiming that the investment would get him an EB-5 visa.
