The Iowa Department of Revenue has extended the deadlines for filing returns for individual, corporate, franchise, estate and trust, partnership and S corporation returns due after March 19, to July 31, in response to the COVID-19 global pandemic.

The deadlines for the various individual, corporate, estate and trust taxes in addition to composite returns, credit union moneys and credit taxes, are extended to provide relief to Iowans whose lives have been disrupted by the novel coronavirus, the department said in a statement accompanying the order signed Thursday.

Additionally, the order signed by the department director, Kraig Paulsen, also moves the semimonthly income tax withholding remittance due date for the period ending March 15 from March 25 to April 10. The department will waive late filing and underpayment penalties and interest for filings and payments submitted by the extended due date.
