Oklahoma Extending Income Tax Deadline Due To COVID-19

By Asha Glover · 2020-03-20 17:32:13 -0400

Oklahoma will mirror the Internal Revenue Service's guidelines and state taxpayers will have until July 15 to pay and file their income tax in response to the novel coronavirus pandemic, the state tax commission has announced.

The Oklahoma Tax Commission will extend the deadline to file state income taxes to July 15, according to a notice released Friday.

The commission on Thursday voted to extend the payment deadline to July 15 and to extend the deadline for individual and noncorporate filers to defer up to $1 million of income tax payments due on April 15 to July 15 without penalties and interest. Corporate taxpayers will be allowed to defer up to $10 million of income tax payments to July 15.

Due dates for other taxes, including sales and withholding remain the same.
