Mass. Will Extend Individual Income Tax Deadline To July 15

Massachusetts will automatically extend the April 15 deadline for state individual income tax payments to July 15 to offset the economic effects of the COVID-19 pandemic under an agreement announced by the governor and legislative leaders on Friday.

In a statement, Gov. Charlie Baker and leaders in the state House of Representatives and Senate said Massachusetts would follow the federal tax extension offered as relief to the impact of the novel coronavirus and the public health measures implemented in response to the virus.

Forthcoming legislation and administrative changes will finance and implement the extension, the statement said.
