Kansas will waive penalties and interest for late first-quarter estimated tax payments that are submitted by July 15 to offer relief for the economic impact of COVID-19, the state Department of Revenue has announced.

In a notice issued Tuesday, the department said it will waive the penalties and fees on late payments that are due April 15 to offset the effects of the novel coronavirus pandemic and the public health measures enacted in response to the virus, which causes the respiratory disease COVID-19.
