    Barretts Talc Claimants Urge 5th Circ. To Halt 'Unlawful' Trial

    Talc claimants in Barretts Minerals Inc.'s bankruptcy have urged the Fifth Circuit to stop a planned trial in Texas federal district court on whether talc sold by Barretts contained cancer-causing asbestos, saying the trial court's "unlawful" proposal to weigh an issue affecting some 800 individualized claims in a single proceeding violates U.S. Supreme Court precedent.
