A Florida man convicted of taking part in a $93 million Medicare fraud scheme urged a federal court Monday to impose a prison sentence of 24 months rather than the 121 months that the U.S. government is seeking, arguing that prosecutors' recommendation is "excessive" in light of the "minor" role he played and "wildly out of step" with the punishments already handed out to more than a dozen other conspiracy members.
