The U.S. Supreme Court declined Monday to take up a challenge to a Seattle law barring landlords from asking tenants about their criminal records and taking adverse action against them based on their answers.

The city of Seattle told the U.S. Supreme Court on Friday to side against landlords challenging the city's 2017 tenant check law that bars landlords from asking tenants about their arrest and conviction histories and taking adverse action such as not renting to tenants who have those types of histories.
