A Michigan federal judge ruled Tuesday that Travelers Indemnity Co. is liable for around 12 percent of costs incurred by Decker Manufacturing Corp. to clean up a Superfund site, less than half of what Decker had sought from the insurer.

The Travelers Indemnity Co. is on the hook for some of Decker Manufacturing Corp.'s cleanup costs at a Michigan landfill-turned-Superfund site, a federal judge ruled Tuesday, saying the insurer can't rely on a pollution exclusion under its policies.
