A bond services company that caters to individuals leaving immigration detention asked a Virginia federal court to nix a suit alleging predatory business practices, calling the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau and state claims "hyperbolic, inaccurate, and flat-out false."

The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau and several states moved on Monday to stop what they allege is a predatory immigration bond services business, filing a lawsuit in Virginia federal court that marks the agency's first new public enforcement action of the Biden administration.
