An Amerisure unit must defend and indemnify a utility contractor in an underlying lawsuit over a 200-ton crane that was damaged when it fell through the ground at a jobsite, the contractor has told a Georgia federal court, saying its insurer's reliance on various policy exclusions is misplaced.

Amerisure Mutual Insurance Co. told a Georgia federal court it shouldn't have to cover a construction company over a 2020 crane mishap, saying the builder should have been aware of conditions at the worksite that led to the crane falling through a parking lot and becoming damaged.
