AmTrust Financial can't force British insurance firm Forge Underwriting to arbitrate a coverage dispute over an underlying securities fraud settlement, a New York federal court ruled, saying the company's policy does not include an agreement to arbitrate.

British insurance firm Forge Underwriting Ltd. wants a federal judge to block its client, AmTrust Financial Services Inc., from sending an ongoing coverage fight to arbitration, saying the company's policy has no mechanism to automatically arbitrate such disputes.
