Bristol-Myers Begs Court To Preserve Plavix Injunction

Law360, New York (September 15, 2006, 12:00 AM ET) -- Bristol-Myers Squibb Co. and Sanofi-Aventis are urging the Federal Circuit to deny Apotex Corp.’s request to stay a preliminary injunction preventing the generic maker from selling its copycat version of the blood thinner Plavix.

The injunction blocks the sale of generic Plavix until the district court reaches a decision in the patent infringement case that the three companies are currently embroiled in.

Apotex appealed the preliminary injunction to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit on Sept. 6.
