The House Of Lords Stance In Wasa V. Lexington

Law360, New York (August 27, 2009, 2:43 PM ET) -- The House of Lords has overturned a decision of the Court of Appeal in February last year, which had effectively allowed Lexington Insurance Co. to recover pollution claims for which it was found liable under Pennsylvania law, even though the damage occurred outside the applicable policy period.

Lexington insured Alcoa Inc. in respect of loss or damage to property from noon on July 1, 1977, until noon on July 1, 1980.
