Law360, New York (September 16, 2009, 2:54 PM ET) -- A federal appeals court has ruled in favor of a Nevada rehabilitation center employee who e-mailed himself company documents while working on his own business, finding he did not run afoul of computer hacking laws.
Christopher Brekka did not violate the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act when he sent himself patient lists from LVRC Holdings LLC to his personal computer, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit said in an opinion published Tuesday.
