Exxon, BP Lose Appeal Over Pipeline Rate Hike

Law360, New York (February 08, 2010, 4:21 PM ET) -- A federal appeals court has thrown out Exxon Mobil Corp. and BP West Coast Products LLC's challenge to a Federal Energy Regulatory Commission decision allowing a rate hike for shipping oil products on a California pipeline.

In an unpublished, per curiam opinion, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit on Friday rejected the oil companies' arguments that FERC had wrongly dismissed their complaints over Kinder Morgan Energy Partners LP's 2005 and 2007 rate increases for its SFPP North Line pipeline.
