Inventor Tafas Seeks Fees In Suit Over USPTO Rules

Law360, New York (March 16, 2010, 6:38 PM ET) -- Triantafyllos Tafas, the inventor whose challenge to the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office’s proposed rules for patent applicants prompted a prolonged lawsuit and the rescission of the rules last fall, has moved to recover all of his attorneys' fees and expenses for the case.

Tafas, the founder of robotic microscopy company Ikonisys Inc., filed his motion Monday in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia, arguing he is entitled to recovery because the USPTO unnecessarily prolonged the case.
