Fed. Circ. Won't Revisit $5M Patent Award To SEB

Law360, New York (April 05, 2010, 5:43 PM ET) -- The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit has denied a request by Pentalpha Enterprises Ltd. for an en banc review of its decision to uphold a $4.88 million patent infringement award for French appliance maker SEB SA, in a case addressing the requirements for proving induced infringement.

The appeals court issued an order March 25 denying the petition without comment. Pentalpha, along with the American Intellectual Property Lawyers Association and the Federal Circuit Bar Association, which filed an amicus brief on the company's behalf,...
