Gas Cos. Ask 10th Circ. To Shield Docs In Hot Fuel MDL

Law360, New York (April 06, 2010, 12:30 PM ET) -- Twelve defendants in the multidistrict litigation alleging a hot fuel conspiracy, along with six gasoline industry trade groups, have appealed an order to fork over internal lobbying records, arguing that the First Amendment shields their political communications.

The Petroleum Marketers Association of America Inc. and five other trade groups joined with the 12 hot fuel MDL defendants to file a notice of appeal Monday to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit.
